PIC EOR technology is based on novel methodologies such as Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (MEOR), In Situ CO2 Generation, Steam injection, and Electro-Thermal processes. Combinations of these systems have also been used, such as solvent-steam assist and solvent extraction with electromagnetic heating.

Of course, PIC consultants also support Chemical EOR and miscible displacement applications. Most of our effort involves investigations that require in-depth field and laboratory studies.  For example, developing a preflush treatment that prevented the mixed deposition of asphaltene, carbonate and silica scale during cyclic steam injection. This rapid scale formation was plugging slotted liners, limiting entry and resulted in catastrophic sand control failures. In the San Joaquin Valley, heavy oil field completions designed for a twenty-year life were failing in a matter of months. The ultimate chemical treatment, developed by PIC Scientists, eliminated the early sand control failures. In addition, it increased the initial historic production rate by over 50% and extended the cycle time between steam injection treatments by 68%.
