The PIC Technology staff works with chemical suppliers to improve data collection, monitoring, cost performance, and proper application. This auditing and monitoring process results in first year chemical cost reductions of up to 70%. Further cost reductions are achieved in subsequent years.

The second phase of this program is to establish baseline compositional data of gas, oil, and produced water. This data allows for early detection of wettability reversal, organic deposition, scale formation, and fines migration. Once identified, low cost measures are taken to prevent or reduce the magnitude of formation damage. This results in higher oil recovery and lower water production, which lowers the cost of remedial treatments, increases treatment success rates, and increases ultimate recovery by 20% to 50%.
